AID Learning 2.0 Revisited

Welcome to the AID Learning 2.0 Revisited program.
This program will commence on Monday 20th July and run for twelve weeks until Friday 9th October.

Listed below are 12 Things (or small exercises) in six modules you will do on the web to explore and expand your knowledge of the Internet and Web 2.0.
Training sessions will be held for this first module, while self paced workshops for staff to gain assistance will be scheduled for the remaining modules.

Module 1 : Learning 2.0 Introduction, Registration & Blog Creation
Monday 20 July - Friday 31 July
1. Set up your own blog.
2. Add your first post or entry. Register your blog by writing your name, blog name and URL of your blog on the sheet provided in the training session OR send your name, blog name and URL of your blog to the following email address leasey@slv.vic.gov.au
It will be added to the Participants Blog

Module 2: Wikis (& other online application tools)
Monday 3 August - Friday 14 August
3. Learn about wikis , discover some innovative ways that libraries are using them and add/edit
material to the SLV Practice Wiki.
4. Explore some online application tools such as Zoho Writer and Google docs

Module 3: RSS & Newsreaders & Podcasts
Monday 17 August - 28 August
5. Learn about RSS feeds and feedreaders
6. Discover some useful search tools for locating and downloading podcasts.

Module 4: Tagging, Del.icio.us and Library Thing
Monday 31 August - Friday 11 September
7. Learn about tagging and discover Del.icio.us (a social bookmaking site)
8.Catalogue your own books with Library Thing

Module 5: Photos & Images (Flickr & YouTube)
Monday September 14 - Friday 25 September
9. Explore Flickr and learn about this popular image hosting site
10. Discover YouTube and other sites that allow users to upload and share videos.

Module 6: More Web 2.0 applications, Library 2.0 and conclusions about the program
Monday 28 September - Friday 9 October
11. More Web 2.0 applications and their impact, Library 2.0 and the future of libraries
12. Summarize your conclusions about the program (one or two paragraphs) on your blog.
